It’s that rewarding time of year when we tally up the hours of our trail care events, and as always we are amazed at the dedication of time and effort that volunteers contribute to Canmore Area trails.
Spring brought uncertainty as to how the ‘Covid trail season’ would unfold, but as the summer progressed we were amazed at the great turnouts for the majority of our events. We are excited to share the outcomes of our 2020 CTA Trail Care season, with 204 volunteers who came out times and worked 1,476 hours. Amazing!
We are grateful for our partnership with Alberta Environment and Parks which enables our Trail Care program to offer these unique opportunities. A big thanks as well to the Canmore & Area Mountain Bike Association (CAMBA) for their great partnership on several co-hosted trail care events in the Bow Valley that brought together keen trail workers from different groups.
Drum roll…presenting the 2020 CTA Trail Report!

We would like to take this opportunity to give a BIG thanks to our volunteer Crew Leaders:
Canmore Trail Alliance Crew Leaders: Bruce Gleig, Greg Thompson, Dwayne Brown, Eric Trouillot, Ken Davies, Stephen Hanus.
Canmore & Area Mountain Bike Association Crew Leaders (partner crew leaders): Andrew Dickison, Trevor Dingman, Grant Fox, Brett Romanow, Paul Kerfoot, Torben Jensen.
These people put in extra hours towards first aid certification and participating in our annual Crew Leader Training, and help ensure we deliver trail days that are well organized, safe, productive and fun.
A BIG thank you to the 204 volunteers who are the enthusiastic engine of the volunteer program. Thanks for your remarkable and creative trail building, trail maintenance, trail brushing and assessing throughout Kananaskis. Your hard work, time and positive energy is truly appreciated.
