Working together to build, maintain, respect and love our trails

Through partnership with land managers, recreational groups, clubs, businesses, and the community at large, the CTA is here so we can all work together to build an amazing trail system.

Engaging trail users in planning, design, construction and maintenance of trails in the Canmore area

Coordinated through the Friends of Kananaskis Country, the Canmore Trail Alliance (CTA) is all about an integrated trail system that contributes to a vibrant, active Canmore.

 CTA Role

Identify trail projects that require volunteer work.
Provide trained crew leaders to lead volunteer crews.
Help develop and advance trail initiatives that enhance Canmore area trails.
Provide trail updates and education.
Encourage participation.
Promote collaboration and inclusion.
Represent trail users.

Trail Culture

The CTA is guided by passionate trail users from the Canmore community, Alberta Parks and the Town of Canmore. The CTA has a dedicated group of crew leaders. Our crew leaders take out volunteer crews so they can give back to the local trails –  and keep trails in top shape. These dedicated trail lovers help make Canmore’s trail awesome!
